Lunch time talk: My Mongolian Trip by Amy Jenkins
Amy Jenkins is 19 years old and a BA Chinese Studies and Politics student at the University of Chester. Amy applied for her course because of her love of languages, her previous experience of the Chinese language and her desire to understand the culture.
In the summer of 2015 Amy was lucky to have an opportunity to go to China to be part of an expedition from Beijing to Hohhot in Inner Mongolia. The expedition allowed Amy to be immersed in Chinese culture and she learnt a lot about Chinese food (中国菜), how to use chopsticks (筷子) and about relationships between people. (关系). Amy would love to share her experiences and have the opportunity to explain the intricacies of the many aspects of Chinese culture she experienced.
