Home made bread and cakes for sale at the University of Chester this Friday

This Friday, 24th March, our artisan bakers are selling delicious home made breads and bakes on our Parkgate Road Campus outside Binks Building.

 They're a big success with staff and students so please do pop along between 10am - 2pm and try them for yourself.

Oyez oyez oyez - Graduation Congratulations

One of Chester’s most well-known voices will graduate in a subject exploring his vocal craft at a ceremony this week at Chester Cathedral.

The city’s Town Crier, David Mitchell, has been awarded an MRes (Master’s by Research) with a Distinction following his dissertation on ‘The Word on the Streets to Shakespeare and Pepys: The Town Crier and Bellman in Early Modern Britain’. Many congratulations!

Chinese Languages: the past, the present and the future

About the Speaker: Dr Yichao Shi is a Confucius Teacher assigned to the University of Chester by the Confucius Institute headquarters in China and teaches Chinese Language and Culture classes to the community as well as writing, reading, grammar, listening and speaking on our undergraduate Chinese courses.

Spring is, hopefully, arriving at the University of Chester

 University of Chester students and Chester Students' Union joined forces recently with Cllr Bob Rudd to help Spring Clean the Garden Quarter.  Over 60 students took part in a big clean up and also helped move bigger items for local residents.

At the University we have a Travel Plan Strategy which promotes sustainable travel choices at the University. You can see the Strategy here  We know that the residents of Chester would like to see less cars in the city and so we promote cycling to our students.  Recently, PC Jack Bostock arranged for some bikes that have been passed to the police and not collected to be upcycled at the University  to be offered to our students who might not be able to afford a bike.
